Q10 is a vitamin-like substance that plays a key role in the body's energy supply mechanism.
Q10 works in conjunction with enzymes that
convert sugar and fat into energy. This process occurs within mitochondria, specialized structures found in all cells. High energy tissues (heart, skeletal muscles and liver) are particularly dependent on this process and an adequate supply of Q10.
Chronic fatigue syndrome

It May Help Treat Heart Failure
Heart failure is often a consequence of other heart conditions, such as coronary artery disease or high blood pressure. It Could Help With Fertility. Female fertility decreases with age due to a decline in the number and quality of available eggs. It Might Help Keep Your Skin Young.  Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it’s widely exposed to damaging agents that contribute to aging. It Could Reduce Headaches. Abnormal mitochondrial function can lead to an increased calcium uptake by the cells, the excessive production of free radicals and decreased antioxidant protection. This can result in low energy in the brain cells and even migraines.  It Could Help With Exercise Performance. Oxidative stress can affect muscle function, and thus, exercise performance.  It Could Help With Diabetes. Oxidative stress can induce cell damage. This can result in metabolic diseases like diabetes.  It Might Play a Role in Cancer Prevention.  Oxidative stress is known to cause cell damage and affect their function.
It Is Good for the Brain. Mitochondria are the main energy generators of brain cells. Could Protect the Lungs. Of all your organs, your lungs have the most contact with oxygen. This makes them very susceptible to oxidative damage.

EPI-Q10
Why is coenzyme Q10 important?
Coenzyme Q10 (also known as Q10 or ubiquinone) is a vitamin-like substance that plays a key role in the body's energy supply mechanism.
Q10 acts in conjunction with enzymes which convert sugars and fat into energy, in the form of the molecule ATP. This process occurs within the mitochondria, specialised structures found in all cells. Tissues with a high energy requirement (heart, skeletal muscles and liver) are particularly dependent on this process and an adequate supply of Q10.
Q10 is also important as a lipid-soluble antioxidant, protecting cell membranes (particularly those of the mitochondrion) from the damaging effects of free radicals.
Q10  is an absolute prerequisite for cells, tissues and organs to function as well as possible. It appears that the amount of Q 10 in the cells decreases in increasing age and in certain conditions of disease.
Special conditions related to Q 10 lack:
Cardiovascular disease
Migraine
Parkinson's disease
Use of cholesterol lowering medicines (statins)
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Foods with Q-10
Q-10 is made in the body itself and is found in: Fat fish, all meat products, spinach and nuts.
Cardiovascular function
Svend Åge Mortensen at Rikshospitalet in Copenhagen stated in his PhD that Q 10 is important for the heart's energy metabolism shift.
Several studies with Q 10 seem to show a positive effect in heart disease, especially before cardiac surgery. Supplement of Q10 before heart surgery Coronar bypass (ACB) withstands much better oxygen deficiency during surgery.
Parkinson's disease
Newly performed randomized placebo-controlled study shows that patients receiving Q10 had a significantly slower development of parkinson's disease, especially on activities such as eating, dressing and walking.
Cholesterol lowering medicines (statins)
It is well-known that patients who use cholesterol-lowering medicines may experience muscle weakness as a side effect. The reasons for this are not completely clear, but the statins inhibit an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in the liver, which is also important in the body's own Q10 production. A reduction of 30% of Q 10 in the blood has been reported after four weeks of treatment with simvastatin (20mg / day). Reduced synthesis and delivery of Q10 to the muscle cells may be thought to result in reduced production of high energy phosphates (ATPs) that are the body's energy substances. It has also been reported that Q10 has antioxidant properties in cell membranes. A published study in the reputable journal American Journal of Cardiology showed that heart function was reduced using statins and that this reduction was normalized with the help of Q10
Migraine
A Swiss study shows that in preventive treatment with Q 10 (3x100mg / day), every third patient reported clinical improvement. The study was randomized, double blind, placebo controlled.
Chronic fatigue syndrome
An observation study from the United States received supplementation of Q10, Ginseng and dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome. The results were best for Q10 (69% reported improvement of symptoms) then DHEA (65%) and ending Ginseng (56%).
